The Chamber provides its members an active voice with City of Chicago departments to protect business interests and investments.

MARCH MEMBERSHIP MEETING - Learn About Facebook & Twitter

Join us March 11th for our first quarter membership meeting.  We will meet at 12 noon at the Edison Park Metra Station, 6730 N. Olmsted for a St. Patrick's Day lunch catered by Unforgettable Edibles Catering.  Lunch will be $10 per person.  Meeting is free if you're not eating.   Our guest speaker will be Brooke Randazzo Eggert of  r3 Multi Media Group, Inc.  Brooke will be educating us on how to use Facebook and Twitter constructively for business.  Facebook and Twitter are fantastic tools to reach your audience immediately.  During the presentation, Brooke will detail the benefits of using social media networking for businesses, demonstrate how to open an account and most importantly, how to use it well.  She will also be offering a hands-on workship in April for learning the ins-and-outs of Facebook and Twitter.  Please call the chamber office at (773) 631-0063 ti nake a reservation or e-mail rita@edisonpark.com.

 

MINI GOLF NETWORKING - Putting Edge Fun Center

The Albany Park, Belmont-Central, Edison Park, Harwood Heights-Norridge, Jefferson Park, Northwest Connection, Portage Park, and West RidgeChambers of Commerce along with Six Corners Association and the U.S. Department of Commerce presents the "1st Annual Winter Classic Miniature Golf Outing" on Thursday, March 11th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at the Putting Edge Fun Center, 4105 N. Harlem Avenue.   Admission is $20 per person which includes 18 holes of glow-in-the-dark minature golf (putter and golf balll provided), a dinner buffet of Chicken Nuccio, mostaccioli, tossed salad with Italian dressing, and a variety of desserts.  There will also be a cash bar, raffle prizes, great company and exteremly attractive businesspeople!  The event is held indoors.  For more information, please contact your local chamber of commerce or click here. 

 

"HOPE BLOOMS" - Fundraiser for New Hope Community Food Pantry

On Friday, April 16, 2010, the Edison Park Norwood Park Edgebrook, Portage Park, Gladstone Park and Sauganash Chambers of Commerce will host a fundraiser for the New Hope Community Food Parnty.   This emergency food pantry serves zip codes 60630, 60631, 60646 and 60656.  As of December 2009, the pantry had 1,728 people registed form our area.  At the beginning of January 2010, a record was set with 77 families being served in one morning.  The mission of the pantry is "to feed the hungry and share resources to improve the quality of life for those in need". 

The fundraiser will be held at O'Connor's Market & Deli, 7280 W. Devon Ave. from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.  Tickets are $40 per person and includes heavy appetizers, raffle, D.J., beer, wine and soft drinks. If you would like to purchase tickets go to www.newhopechicago.org/foodpantry or call (773) 631-0063.  We are currently seeking donations from individuals or businesses for the event.  If you are interested in making a donation to this event please click here.

2010 Membership Drive - Members, please renew your membership for 2010.  The membership fee is $125 for the year ($135 for new members) which entitles you to many benefits including a discounted vendor fee for Edison Park Fest 2010 (must be a member prior to April 1, 2010).  Other benefits of membership include:  free website listing with a link to your website, monthly newsletter and e-mails regarding upcoming events and promotions, unique sponsorship opportunities, Welcome Program (see below), Community Guide Listing, newsletter advertising and other "member only" advertising opportunities, advocacy for business community issues and representation with City of Chicago Departments.  Renewal letters will be sent in the mail after January 1st.  If you would like to renew on-line, click here.
